  Development of linear and nonlinear optical systems, such as photoluminescence, Raman spectroscopy, two-photon excitation microscopy, second-harmonic generation, four-wave mixing, coherent anti-Stokes Raman spectroscopy, stimulated Raman scattering, applied to biological systems, with an emphasis on the study of the development of Alzheimer's disease, and to two-dimensional materials, with emphasis on graphene, hexagonal boron nitride, and transition metal dichalcogenides.
