I used Fourier transforms to remove wide-band interference from the power spectrum of a radio dish. This allowed us to reduce the noise by 10% when searching for the signal from HI emission in gravitationally lensed galaxies. I also used publicly available source catalogs to study the change in the number and fraction of compact star forming galaxies in the universe.
