  This is for a class, called Math Service. I get to spend thirty hours of my time giving back to the community. I have chosen to help enrich our College Algebra class with extra tools to help students understand the material better. So far I have made a self-discovery packet over transformations of functions.

  I have been a Tutor for Mathematics since my sophomore year. I have enjoyed learning about student's common mistakes, and misconceptions. It has been very beneficial. I now have an idea of what I will need to stress when I teach, and where my students may get confused.

  I have been working for the Sterling College's maintenance since the summer of my freshman year. I have learned a lot during this time. Mostly how to be flexible, and think on my feet. I learned quickly, so that I could help as much as possible. During my time, I have worked with woods, pluming, and electricity. This will be helpful when I teach, because I can give authentic questions from my past that I had to answer, and get the kids excited about math.

  I would have continued to tutor Chemistry throughout college, like I have in Math, but during my sophomore year Sterling College got a new Chemistry teacher. The new teacher went over different material, and I wasn't confident in my tutoring abilities at the time.
