  The Institute of Geoscience from the University of São Paulo is one of those unique research centers with a genuine desire to solve global challenges. My post-doctorate research aims to evaluate the presence of life on Early Cretaceous volcanic rocks, such as peperites, interpillow sandstones and volcaniclastic sandstones. To do so, I applied palynofacies, petrographic thins, Raman and FTIR analyses.   TThe LMPT – Laboratory of Porous Media and Thermophysical Properties from the University of Santa Catarina is a well-known center for performing X-ray microtomography analyses. During one year, using the mct, I reconstructed the micro-structural components (looking for the heterogeneity) of sedimentary rocks from Jaícos Formation, Parnaíba Basin. The project was sponsored by Petrobras and was temporarily terminated by this Company due to Covid-19 outbreak, in 2020

  During my studies at the Federal University of Santa Catarina, I was a collaborative researcher at the project "Estudos petrográficos, geoquímicos e de padrões faciológicos de rochas ígneas e geoquímica isotópica de rochas ígneas e sedimentares de poços estratigráficos em bacias sedimentares brasileiras". In addition to the field mapping activities, I was an assistant manager dealing with budges and administrative requirements.   The ‘Programa de Formação de recursos humanos na área de óleo e gás (PFRH-PB-240)’ was a well-grounded project mainly focused on developing undergraduate and graduate (Master and Doctor) students and assisting them in order to assume highly qualified positions related to the oil industry in Brazil. This program, which was sponsored by Petrobras, was held at the Federal University of Santa Catarina during six years. During my contributions as a visiting researcher, I had the opportunity to learn from multiple stages of a research, not just academic aspects, such as thermal maturation, X-ray microtomography, organic matter analysis, micropaleontology, geochemistry and volcanology, but also business experiences, such as assisting the management of the budget, the accountability and the operation and execution of 56 projects. Furthermore, I established international collaboration and joined multiple fieldwork activities in Brazil, USA, New Zealand, South Africa and Argentina. Being part of this program for 6 years allowed me to gather experiences in putting up and supervising multidisciplinary projects and successfully achieve the proposed goals. Show less
