In this role I work with homeless families with young children who have social, emotional, behavioral challenges or are at risk of a serious emotional disturbance. I provide family centered, family driven care and care coordination to help families reach their short term goals and prepare for their long term goals. I advocate and teach them how to navigate the various systems of care they would become a part of. I also teach and encourage self efficacy skills to promote family voice and choice in decisions that affect them and help ease the transition for families and collateral agencies to ensure that this is a priority. I continuously network, collaborate and build relationships with community agencies to hopefully have more access to resources for the families I serve. Moreover, I provide in-service training when requested to agencies on Early Childhood Mental Health, Motivational Interviewing, Trauma Informed Care and Parent Support. I also facilitate groups for parent support, parenting programs and advocacy training.I provide training for other team members in different parenting curriculum, wrap-a-round methodology and principles and early childhood mental health awareness. Providing Reflective Supervision for case mangers and other site teams are also part of my duties.` Show less
