      I am Italian chef. I was actually born in Johannesburg, grew up in Botswana and Italy (Bologna and Ferrara - in Emilia Romagna region), and returned to South Africa to set the record straight with my little Bree Street Osteria. True Italic-Osteria del Capo introduces Cape Town to the soulful cuisine and convivial spirit of the Italian authentic food (Emilia Romagna & Sicily mainly). An Osteria in Italy is a place serving wine & simple traditional food, where menus tend to be short with an emphasis on regional specialties such as homemade pastas’s, grilled meat & fresh Fish. In Italian “Osteria” means a place where the owner “hosts”guests. I have always wanted to open a dinner place where you’ll find authentic Italian food and where you’ll find tradition and people from all over the world can find an A-Z full Italian experience.
