Professional internship opportunity that was extended to a great co-op experience of 8 months. I started off as an estimator engineer intern working in the company office in Long Beach - CA through the summer of 2020. From August 2020 through January 2021, I was invited to be the field engineer intern on-site for the Mount Vernon Bridge replacement project in San Bernardino - CA. As a member of the Traylor-Granite Joint Venture team for the project, I was able to work on the planning and inspection stages of work for the bridge replacement. I contributed on meetings with owner and subcontractors, inspected subcontractors work, developed work plans, schedules, reports, prices and quotes, 3D models, utility matrices for the work performed, beyond other construction related activities. I also inspected potholing, boreholing, bridge demolition, environmental work plan application and interacted with multiple people in the project from different areas. I was fortunate to be directly involved in supporting and learning with all the members from the Joint Venture team. I worked and learned from the project managers on budgeting and scheduling, and closely helped field and project engineers, superintendent and safety personnel, with plans and on-site work coordination. I had a vast experience of what is like to be in a construction site working with an outstanding group of people, in a great and challenging project. Show less
