  Plantum is the Netherlands association for the plant reproductive materials sector. The members of Plantum are active in breeding, propagation, production and trade of seeds, bulbs, tubers, cuttings and young plants of field and horticultural crops. Plantum provides a platform for its members, represents the sector nationally and internationally and provides services to its members. Plantum is proud to represent a competitive sector that contributes to increasing sustainability of crop production, to diversify quality products for consumers and industry, and to provide an exciting and meaningful employment in an innovative and globally oriented sector.   Research on seed systems and policy areas that affect them, such as intellectual property rights, biodiversity policy and seed industry development policies and laws. Advisor to several developing countries in terms of seed policies, legislation and plant breeder's rights. Initiator of the ISSD concept (Integrated Seed Sector Development), which is operationalised in several countries in Africa. Author of several books and book chapters, and numerous scientific and popular articles.
