Sarah Loring de Garcia

It has been my absolute privilege to know Lourdes (Luly) over these last several years. I first came to know her vaguely when she was a high school student at ASFM, and although she was never my student it was clear to everyone working at the school what a talented leader she was. After she graduated from Penn several years later, Luly diligently and beautifully represented her university as an alumna, coming to the school to speak with interested students and conducting interviews with applicants. Later, when Luly became a College Counselor, it was an honor to mentor her and supervise her practicum for her certificate program. I was delighted to send her referrals for private consulting when I was unable to help students from other schools, and I loved co-teaching with her when we ran our "College Prep Summer Bootcamp" course together. She truly understands the essence of this work - part data and research, part "matchmaking" - and she is simply a natural! I hope that I will have the opportunity to work alongside Luly again someday, as she has become so much more than a mentee or colleague, but a true friend as well.
