Trainee Shipping Administrator

I started at the Lincoln based office as the Office Junior doing jobs such as filing, faxing, inbound and outbound mail and any admin jobs my colleagues needed doing. I also looked after the inbound phone line receiving calls from customers and employees working at the different branches. After around 8 months doing this role I began assisting the Shipping Administrator with any paperwork such as Letters of Credits and Bills of Laden and ensuring that the paperwork all matched the goods that were ready to be shipped. I also liaised with the shipping agents used arranging shipping dates etc. The Shipping Administrator at the time also had the role of PA to the MD of the company and as she was preparing to retire I also took on some of the PA roles such as meeting and greeting visitors to the business and managing diaries. Throughout the transition into the new role, I trained some new employees at the business who were coming into the Office Junior role. The reason I left the business was due to a move back to Peterborough. I enjoyed my time at the company and learn a lot about the importing and exporting processes. Show less
