My job at Screamfest led me to audition for the Christmas North Pole Adventure, which was interactive event for a younger target audience (primary school and younger). I played the role of an elf. This experience required adapting my role to cater for different age groups, including adults (parents) and children. I enjoyed the challenge of encouraging children who were shy or distressed. We also had an autism friendly night that required changing my approach to best meet the needs of the children e.g., explaining what was going to happen and using basic Makaton, to make them feel less anxious. I took part in a scare event for teenagers and young adults that consisted of 5 scare mazes set up for Halloween and I was part of the cast acting in a maze called Love Hurts in 2021 and Insomnia in 2022. It was an amazing experience which improved my self-confidence particularly in working with different age groups both in the cast as well as the audience.

PIn my role as a waitress, I have developed skills such as time management, efficiency, and teamwork; working to ensure customers were happy with their service and engaging in conversation as required. This has helped me to further develop my social skills and maintain a calm manner under pressure, particularly in dealing with customers who were dissatisfied.
