Research assistant at the Aerospace Systems Design Laboratory (ASDL) at GeorgiaTech 1st research project: Development of an efficient and automatic design process for UAVs by using an Ontology (intelligent database) and an IRMA (Interactive Reconfigurable Matrix of Alternatives). The process also includes the automatic creation of a CAD model of the designed and sized UAV. The whole process was implemented in the Dassault 3DExperience Environment (Enovia, Catia...). I presented this project to the external review board of the ASDL (about fifty aerospace company representatives). 2nd research project: I worked on estimating the maintenance costs of composite aircraft. I also developed Matlab tools that allow to quickly estimate maintenance costs linked to the airframe and the engine of an aircraft. The results from the tools were then compared to historical data and validated 3rd research project: I built a Cessna 208B on Catia and thanks to an existing sizing tool, I retrofitted it to make it electric. In addition to slightly modifying the structure of the aircraft, I resized the wings, the propulsion systems and I sized the batteries. As a result, the electric aircraft was capable of flying a little more than a hundred nautical miles. Show less
