Our history Stellenbosch Rugby Academy (SRA), one of the oldest rugby training institutions in South Africa, was established in Stellenbosch in 2004 by Alie Brand. The Academy officially opened its doors in 2005 with one full-time staff member, 4 part-time staff and 23 students. Currently, there are 75 full-time students and six full-time staff members. Our vision "It's not about rugby, it's about young men. It's not about building a championship team, it's about building championship boys. Boys who will be forever strong." - Larry Gelwix We offer a world class rugby experience, and above all: to train well rounded men for life. Our mission We believe success is determined by character and competence. Therefore SRA helps to equip and support students in a professional manner to be: > Quality rugby players with the necessary physical, technical / tactical skills to achieve their full potential as players, with a healthy lifestyle (BODY) > Successful and innovative rugby coaches, referees, sport and business managers who are ready for the challenges of life (MIND) > Balanced young men with mental toughness and solid values, who can confidently make independent decisions in the adult world (SOUL) Our values "Try not only to become a man of success, but rather try to become a man of value." - Albert Einstein Values determine a person's character. We believe the achievements of SRA over the past few years can largely be attributed to our value driven environment. The world of sport and business has a lot of potential to influence the lives of those involved. SRA is therefore committed to supporting Christian values and being unashamedly ethical (see www.unashamedlyethical.com) to best prepare our students to become men of integrity who build their lives on a solid foundation. The following values form the foundation of our training at SRA: Honesty • Discipline • Work ethic • Humility Show less
