Mill Valley, CA SacredAgent pushed the envelope of AI by linking a vast database of both secular and spiritual wisdom to a learning algorithm and a custom film engine – all within a stunning 3D interface. Although it exists in prototype, it needs a few more years and considerable additional funding to complete, so it's on the back burner for now...

Mill Valley, CA BioArts International (BAI) was the first entity in the world to offer commercial dog cloning services, delivered successfully on a limited basis with partners in Korea. Much of the know-how was originally underwritten by Genetic Savings & Clone, a company I also founded. BAI developed other important technology including advanced bio-shippers and microfluidic embryo culture devices.

Sausalito, CA Newdle was a spin-off of the media department of Genetic Savings & Clone. Given the controversy surrounding cloning, we needed a very sophisticated media management group, which at its peak employed 33 people in 5 divisions: Research, Editorial, Design, Video, and Data. We soon took on other clients to produce award-winning data-and-image rich books, videos and websites. We shut down Newdle when the main client, GSC, shut down.

Sausalito, CA GSC arose from a cloning research collaboration with Texas A&M University. Our original goal was to clone a dog named Missy, belonging to Dr. John Sperling. Austin, Texas I co-founded Viagen, a livestock cloning company that's still in business – now a division of publicly traded Intrexon Corporation (NYSE: XON). Viagen was an agricultural spin-off of Genetic Savings & Clone, which I also founded. I personally recruited Viagen's first President, General Manager, and Chief Scientific Officer, and also coordinated their initial investment.

San Francisco Throughout the 90's, I worked as a producer of digital media and full motion video, with a special focus on scientific media. My clients ranged from Fortune 500 companies like Apollo Group and McDonalds to small start-ups. After Dolly the sheep was cloned in mid-1996, I refocused my personal research and consulting on cloning, embryology and related fields. As my scientific knowledge grew, I transitioned from producing media of a scientific nature to managing scientific projects directly.

San Francisco I helped US West develop a pre-internet interactive advertising platform for hotels, malls and other tourist destinations in select cities. I worked both on the technical process – which combined digital graphic design and non-linear video editing on AVID – and also producing content for the platform. The system worked and generated revenue, before being supplanted by the internet.
