Providing inventory control and expediting for the relevant asset area ensuring all materials required for maintenance, Projects and related functions are delivered on time, keeping inventory levels within targets. Working in conjunction with Commercial and LU Engineering you to ensure the performance, safety and cost of the asset base are optimised from a whole life perspective. Ensure London Trams meets its tram availability target through ensuring that requirements for new and / or repairable parts, identified through Material Requirements planning (MRP) processes such as Max / Min, safety stock breaches, and any other bespoke MRP / manual requirements are purchased, expedited and delivered on time and in full to meet the Production schedule and the material budget.•Place purchase orders in line with defined requirements taking into account the material lead time of between 2 - 26 weeks and the minimum stock levels recorded in the MRP system.• Ensure all identified requirements are placed on order, within the agreed timescales, to the agreed budget, with the external supply chain and work closely with the Vendor to provide effective purchase order acknowledgement.• Establish and build effective relationships with all stakeholders to reduce lead times and provide accurate and timely information to internal Customers (Other members of the Materials Team, Production, Engineering and Maintenance).• Develop and maintain an effective long range forecasting tool using information supplied by Engineering and Production to predict likely usage patterns for parts and to enable long term purchase order placement to remove the requirement for manual re order triggers to increase overall material availability.• Manage the parts inflow to the agreed material budget taking into account any storage space considerations and working capital impact.• Develop a business appropriate Key Process Indicators (KPI) pack around the order book to track internal and external performance on a daily / weekly / monthly basis leading to trend analysis summary and a defined improvement plan where required.• Constantly assess the Materials process and procedures and change where appropriate to increase effectiveness.• Manage all elements of Health & Safety within the Stores environment Show less
