      • Jan 2015 - Present

As the Head of Mathematics and Science I oversee the teaching and learning programs of these subjects. Using an instructional model my staff focus on teaching the content in a manner which engages all students, promotes inquiry and caters for individual differences of student abilities and learning styles. Scaffolding the content of their teaching and using both formative and summative assessment to better understand each student's understanding is practiced throughout in order to allow each student to exhibit growth in their development and improve student outcomes. A focus on STEM and improving the number of students undertaking these subjects is a primary focus of our school and hence continually aim to provide increased opportunities to our students by way of Science and Mathematics competitions and project involvement.

    • Leading Teacher: Head of Sport and Sport Education
      • Jun 2008 - Dec 2015

As a Leading Teacher at Canterbury Girls' Secondary College my responsibilities included overseeing the entire interschool and intraschool sporting program. Offering over twenty sports as mandated by our governing body, School Sport Victoria, we chose to expand the breadth of sports offered to include other sports such as gymnastics, futsal, rowing, lacrosse and equestrian. Another key focus accomplished was to increase the quality of the sporting programs that offered and often engaged the services of professional sports coaches to cater for our elite level athletes in such sports as Athletics, Basketball, Netball, Hockey and Football (Soccer). At Canterbury we believe that by allowing students to complement their learning by providing them with opportunities in the co-curricular areas of sport and music then we are making a significant contribution to the development of the whole person when they leave our school and seek their own independence in our community.

    • Head of Football Operations
      • Oct 2019 - Sep 2022

My vision is to be able to cater for all stakeholders in the game and provide both Community and NPL based football options to our football family that caters for all aspects of football and personal development of individuals and provides a pathway for all our stakeholders to be involved in our great game. Our programs foster the opportunity for learning and personal development through team sport. Proper coaching and education of our youngsters is the vital ingredient in excelling in the sport, and in life. Through team sport they can learn about discipline, teamwork, listening, good behaviour, sportsmanship and, above all, also to have fun. As a result our coaches will be expected to promote these valuable attributes to all our players, whilst at the same time developing as educators of our game themselves. The overarching theme we want for our players is to have a pathway to participate in this sport and the benefits such as creation of team spirit and the camaraderie that this engenders. One cannot deny that sport is about striving for excellence. Those with drive, talent and passion in the sport have a clear pathway within our NPL structure whilst our community structure allows anyone else to be involved with our club. Our coaches directives focus heavily on the progress, development and enjoyment shown by their players and the understanding that they have had an impact on this. As a Leading Teacher / educator my intention is to convey my knowledge of how boys and girls learn best to my technical directors and coaches in order to maximise the outcomes of our players.
