I have had the privilege of being trained in the JumpSTART Pediatric MCI Triage Tool by Dr Lou Romig personally. As a healthcare provider for almost 30 years this tool is the easiest and most comprehensive field tool for triaging pediatric patients that I’ve seen. When you are working with a patient that can and frequently does deteriorate so rapidly a tool that is easy to remember and then use s a god-send. Having had the opportunity to receive the training from Dr. Romig herself is an even greater privilege. In my case she taught me in an austere field setting while I was recovering from a bout of sea sickness and I was able to retain and then use the information, which speaks volumes as to her ability to simplify and communicate the information in a way anybody can understand. Not only do I recommend this program but given the chance, every effort should be made to learn as much as you can from Dr. Romig as often as you can.

After Hours Pediatrics (AHP) Urgent Care Centers, located in the Tampa Bay area and South Florida, serve their local families and primary care providers by providing pediatric urgent care services in the evenings and on weekends. AHP works closely with primary care providers to assure continuity of services and refer children requiring a higher level of service only to local facilities with specialized pediatric capabilities. Dr Romig will be working in a full time clinical position and also as the new Assistant Medical Director for the Tampa Bay area clinics. There are currently four AHP clinics in the Tampa Bay area, with an additional clinic due to open by the end of 2015. AHP is a subsidiary of Team Health.
