Daily servicing of a Sandvik jumbo drill, Caterpillar 2900 underground loader, Atlas Copco 5010 underground truck and the Toyota service vehicle. As well as routine servicing of this equipment, being the only fitter on shift I am responsible for any breakdowns to these machines. I also assist with other services as required and ensure any required parts are ordered and in stock. Leading hand of a small team I was responsible for chairing the start of shift meeting passing on any necessary or new information and distributing the work for the day to the relevant person/people. I was also required to ensure relevant paperwork was filled out correctly for example having the involved personnel go over and sign on to a JSA prior to the job being undertaken. I also needed to keep stock levels of service sheets available to personnel as required. Throughout the shift and especially at the end I needed to ensure any relevant information was documented that would benefit the next crew. I would also regularly involve myself in any jobs that I could help with.
