  My main role in this position is as a lifeguard, but also includes setting up equipment for different sporting activities and cleaning. Lifeguarding is a job where being responsible and fully safety conscious is detrimental to the running of the whole pool. Having strong communication skills is important both when interacting with the public and other members of staff to make sure everyone is safe. Also, the focus needed for this job has left me with a great level of concentration and patience as well as strong observational skills. The activities I have to set up as a recreation assistant changes constantly so I am always learning new set ups. This shows that I am a quick learner and adaptable. Show less
