Lori was part of a team that recently visited Jefferson Parish, LA to assess the impact of the BP oil spill and to recommend recovery strategies that the community could pursue. Lori was an indispensible member of the team who displayed broad mastery of economic development and marketing. On top of her valuable substantive insights, Lori’s detail-oriented nature was a boon to the enterprise. After visiting with community members for two days, our team wrestled with producing a presentation that would capture everything we had heard and seen. When the group broke up at 8:00pm, our presentation had all of the important content, but little structure. We reconvened the next morning worried that our presentation would be disorganized and confusing. Little did we know, Lori had stayed up into the wee hours transforming our rough draft into a top-notch presentation. The team was amazed to find that Lori had crafted a narrative thread that connected everything we had to address without sacrificing detail or breadth. Lori has a rare gift for finding the central story within complex material, so her professional success is no accident.

Lori was initially hired by a regional economic development group of which I associate, to develop a branding strategy. Lori's expertise, confidence and wise guidance resulted in a completion of the project ahead of schedule and with more deliverables provided than expected from the original contract. The coalition was so pleased with the results, they extended another contract to Lori to enhace the original branding plan. I personally hired Lori to develop a complementary webpage for our organization, as well. During a preview presentation of the branding product, a competing consultant attempted to degrade Lori and her company. When asked about their concern with the product, they could only personalize their comments against Lori and Presntations Plus, not against the results. Personal attacks from competitors are usually petty and are never pleasant, but degradation of personalities, rather than product, is quite telling and always shows the professional ability of the targeted provider. I am pleased to recommend Lori Martinek, and Presentations Plus, for any project she pursues, as she esceeded expectations and is a pleasure to work with.
