I have had the pleasure of knowing Lorien since she became an integral part of the New York State Coalition Against Domestic Violence in 1998, when I was at NYS Office for the Prevention of Domestic Violence. Working together with Lorien over the years on groundbreaking issues such as mandatory arrest and domestic violence program funding has always been inspiring. Not only does Lorien possess tremendous experience and expertise, she also has the skills to work collaboratively and supportively. I admire her skills as a leader and a mentor, both organizationally and in the community. Lorien is always teaching, and always learning--and is one of the kindest people I know.
