I had the pleasure of working with Lori at Autozone. She was my senior. This was my first job out of college. I can honestly day that I could not have asked for a better mentor! Together, we built Client-Server applications at Autozone. She introduced me to database technology for the very first time. She was an expert at designing and managing databases. Under her supervision, I learned how to design DB tables for large complex systems, write stored procedures, optimize tables and queries for maximum performance. I developed a passion for DB design under her guidance. She paid particular attention to the quality of her work. She worked hard to make sure that her solution was not just a working solution but also the most elegant solution. She led by example, so she set a pretty high standard for me. And I am glad she did that! She worked on very large systems at AZ with huge backend databases. There were very few people in our organization, who knew the DB technologies we worked on at that time. She was among the select few. She was respected by everyone who knew her. I still feel fortunate that I started my career under the guidance of someone so capable and knowledgeable. I would gladly recommend her to any organization looking for a technical leader.
