  During my association at the INFN of Pisa, I had the chance to work on the FOOT collaboration experiment, in order to accomplish my master thesis. In this thesis, the data have been acquired during the test beam data taking performed in November 2021, at Centro Nazionale di Adroterapia Oncologica (CNAO), in Pavia (Italy). Through the subsequent data analysis, it was made possible to calculate the trigger efficiencies of the nuclear fragments. In the near future, these results will contribute to the measurements of nuclear cross sections which will be used to develop a new generation of biologically oriented treatment planning systems for proton and heavy ion therapy.
