In this position, I am responsible for legal information reference and programming. This includes maintaining and updating our lists of local legal aid and legal service providers, as well as coordinating with community partners to present regular informational sessions on legal research and legal resources. I am also responsible for collection development for our Science Fiction and Fantasy materials. I facilitate our Science Fiction and Fantasy book discussion group, and provide readers advisory for patrons in the science fiction and fantasy genres. In addition, I am the coordinator for "EPL & MENA present:", a lecture series on the culture, politics, religion, and society of the Middle East and North Africa, in collaboration with Northwestern University’s Middle East and North African Studies department. I serve on the Evanston Public Library's internal Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) committee, as well as the Racial Equity Task Force (a partnership between EPL staff, board members, and Evanston community members). I have completed SEED (Seeking Educational Equity and Diversity) training with the City of Evanston. Show less
