To Whom It May Concern:: I first met Lonie Joyce two years ago when she was a student in the BFA Program at Centenary University majoring in Graphic Design and Multimedia. At that time, I was a full-time faculty member in the Visual Arts department, and Lonie was a student of mine in some graphics classes that were required for her major. Lonie’s decision to get her BFA degree in Graphic Design and Multimedia was a decision she made after working in the field of design for a number of years, and after having completed an AA degree in Graphic Design. Her previous experience and schooling enabled her to transition into the program with a high level of accomplishment and maturity. She showed these qualities in the work she produced, in class critiques, and in her ability to provide other students with feedback and guidance. In regard to Lonie’s own personal work, she showed an instinctive understanding of print and interactive design. Her ability to work with color, her illustrative capabilities, and her understanding of type and print layout went beyond any introductory level. She exhibited a high level of self-direction and was highly motivated to take each of her projects to the highest level. She has the maturity and the self determination to do her very best work. While holding on to these qualities she also was open to critiques and self-improvement. As an educator in the field of design, I’ve had opportunity to see a wide range of student design work. It is clear to me that Lonie’s projects are on par with freelance designers working in the field. Her decision to continue her studies towards a BFA degree in the field of Graphic Design and Multimedia, in spite of having one undergraduate degree, working as a freelancer in graphics, and teaching beginning graphics at a local community college, is a testament to her desire to be as prepared as possible in the field. Lonie would be an excellent addition to any design company, and her contributions would be of great value to the clients she serves. If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact me. Sincerely yours, Barbara Pohl bpohl@bestweb.net Retired Assistant Professor at Centenary University Assistant Part-Time Professor, First Year, Parson School of Design

For the last few years, I have studied graphic design alongside Lonie Joyce at Sussex County Community College (SCCC) and Centenary University. At SCCC, we were both involved in Design Squad, a student graphic design club. She contributed substantially to this club, as she shared many innovative ideas and concepts that improved the club, and helped bring our projects to conclusion. After seeing her coursework from various classes, it is clear to me that from page layout to illustration to photography and everything in between, Lonie is an incredible and very talented artist and graphic designer. Lonie is also kind, hardworking, works great with other people, and would be an excellent fit for any client or design firm.
