  Lions Camp Merrick is a place where children with disabilites can feel at ease and have a normal week with others who share their responsibilites. We also allow this to teach and educate the children about their disability and harbor confidence and trust with others and themselves. The program I worked for was with type 1 diabetics, which is a immune disease I have as well. I have currently been working at the camp as a counslor for five years and as their canoe instructor for three years. My fellow employees and I have made certain for those years that with the children it felt more like a home than another camp. We want the children to feel they are not alone and that they can still be themselves with what hinders them.

  Dawsons Market is a local organic food market in Rockville Maryland, inside Rockville town center that has been around for 4 plus years. Our motive is to know your community and befriend your neighbor. In the store, we try to supply 50% of our shelves with local vendors, farmers and companies products in Maryland. There is a great deal we can do for our community, and we believe that if we get people to eat healthier, while knowing where their food is coming from and what it is, they will live happier.
