Bio
Michael Williams
I’ve the honor of working with Lola Cornish from a variety of capacities—as a peer administrator of sister child care resource & referral organizations, as a member of the CA CCR&R Network as she took over the membership coordination role at that organization, and most recently as fellow organizers of the family-strengthening field in California. Lola brings an exemplary combination of professional excellence and passionate commitment to the work. She helped guide the network in embracing research-informed practices such as trauma-informed care and family protective factors, while ensuring professional and organizational support for members. A particularly gratifying, and complex, accomplishment in my work with Lola was the development of practice standards for child care resource & referral. Lola was a leader in the effort from the start, as a Network member when she was at Community Resources for Children. Then, through her Member Engagement role at the Network, Lola brought the effort to realization by guiding the creation of procedures and instructional videos for the field. Working with Lola Cornish has been productive, growthful, exciting, and productive, not only for the field advancing projects accomplished, but also because her sense of social justice and her care for families and children have made it clear that we are joined in a cause. I’m sure that whatever organization Lola gets involved with will see amazing benefits from her leadership and her drive.
