  I am grateful to be back with Design House & part of the interior design industry. I feel my time travelling has given me a fresh perspective & I already feel the benefits including better time keeping, greater productivity & an improved confidence with customers. I am back in my role on a part time basis, allowing me a few days a week to explore illustration. I'm excited for an opportunity to practice my hand drawing again, a skill which I've not put to great use since university.   I approached this company due to a desire to experience residential interior design, though in this new role I was still able to design for a select few hotels. Design House are a leading interior designers with one of the largest range of supplier accounts in Hampshire, the most popular being Colefax & Fowler. I ran my own projects, from initial home visit & quotation through to managing the fitting & final invoicing. I also worked alongside the managing directors & other designers for various projects. The design studio also includes a retail space so I gained experience of retail sales for lighting, bespoke furniture & accessories, as well as visual merchandising. When I eventually left this company to go travelling, it wasn't from a desire to leave the industry or Design House, but a valuable opportunity to learn more about our world & about myself.   This was my first full time job in the interior design industry. I was a project assistant & also an assistant to the managing director. The focus was on the interior design of pubs & restaurants, including framed artwork & photographs.
