First, in the litigation department I was assigned to work on Real-Estate cases. And in order to understand cases of this nature I had to conduct extensive research and read a lot in the Egyptian civil law, Egyptian procedural law as well as tort law, which constitutes the essential legal foundation for every rising lawyer. I was exposed to a number of valuable books and great law professors and lawyers from whom I learned so much specifically when it came to the nuances and tricky issues in law. I was lucky to men trained by Mr. Ziad AbdelHakim and mentored by Madam Rasha, who were always available for my questions and keen to make men understand the roots of every notion in the civil law. Moreover, I worked in the corporate departement with Mr. Youssef Helmy under the supervision of Dr. Moataz on legal researches pertaining to companies’ incorporation in different jurisdictions, types of companies, types of commercial contracts and more. Which broaden my understanding and knowledge in the Egyptian Companies Law and Law of Commerce. Additionally, we had a commercial arbitration moot court at the end of the internship, so we have been preparing for it since day one. The case was a real ongoing case in the firm, and I was responsible to write a memo and plead defending one of the companies party to a contract containing an arbitration clause. Show less

In the corporate departement I was assigned to draft an assignment contract of assets from a big company in Egypt to a holding company. And in the litigation department I worked on several labour law cases and questionnaire. Additionally I learned how to properly draft a bilingual contract and this experience improved my legal translation skills. For a month I have been working on a real leading Investment Arbitration case. I was responsible to conduct first annexe yes I’ve Research about all annulment investment arbitration. Then I proceeded with drafting and writing myself an annulment request before the ICSID. All along the internship I was working and coordinating with other interns and the firm’s lawyers, we had daily brainstorming meetings which allowed us to predict the other party’s arguments and enhance the quality of our own arguments.
