Inspection: - Conduct field evaluations of Natural Gas Power Plant equipment, primarily Heat Recovery Steam Generators (HRSGs), to prioritize maintenance issues & repairs to the client. - Perform High Energy Piping (HEP) inspections by photographing hot and cold conditions to track wear and diagnose maintenance issues. - All inspections are followed up by a detailed report. Eighteen (18) Weeks of inspections were performed during the employment period. Project Management: - Successfully managed one (1) Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) project to minimize ash buildup and unplanned downtime in a woody-biomass electric generation boiler by designing an optimal turning vane system to reduce turbulence and improve gas flow distribution. Sales: - Develop and submit proposals to define project scope of work, price, and technical description for equipment being inspected or analyzed. Accepted proposals have been in the US$10k-50k range. Pipe Stress Analysis: - Self-taught Caesar II pipe stress analysis of High-Energy Piping systems for natural gas combined cycle equipment. - Two (2) projects were completed to resolve process issues with a hot reheat steam line reroute to a blowdown tank and a steam line reroute to a rotary air cooler (RAC) to reduce pressure drop and increase efficiency during peak summer hours (B31.1 Codes). Both projects are to be implemented in April 2020. Fluid & Thermal Systems Engineering Applications: Steam Boiler Drums/Tubes/Duct, High Energy Piping Stress Analysis, CFD, Combustion, HRSG, Power Generation, <1500°F thermal applications Show less

Project Management: - Managed European projects in Sweden, Greece, & Germany, and some projects in the Domestic US. - Review and supervise internal engineering/design of water-cooled steel production furnaces, fabrication, & delivery between the U.S. and EU countries. - Value of three (3) fully or ten (10) partially managed projects ranged from US$60k-$8m. Piping Engineering: - Piping & Electrical conversion projects w/ self-taught laser scan integration. -Existing pressurized tubular equipment was converted to gravity drain technology and typically required piping changes, a recirculation tank, and new pumps to work with the original water system. Emissions: - For the Big River Steel’s construction Phase 1, a large order was lost due to lack of a temperature guarantee to meet EPA emissions requirements. I troubleshooted an existing gas temperature calculator toguarantee these temperature requirements. Afterwards, Systems Spray-Cooled secured their highest revenue order to date which was just recently delivered to be installed for Phase 2. Cost Estimation: - Estimate costs of new steel furnace equipment, including materials, fabrication, delivery, engineering, taxes & duties, instrumentation & controls, and unstable market factors (due to new Section 232 Tariffs on steel) for international (Mexican, German, Swedish, German, & Turkish fabrication) and domestic projects. Sales: - I developed new cost estimating spreadsheets to develop a budget quote price based on equipment size and country of fabrication, which allowed for a quote to be performed within 2-4 hours including engineering specifications, instead of a 1-2 week process requiring 3rd party pricing and engineering drawings for each case. - I also designed a tool to present ROI to clients based on historical downtime reductions, as well as engineering templates to reduce specification time for new piping and control systems.
