The activities and tasks covered by the internship are: - Research and analyze specific investment funds and investment vehicles utilizing specialized software programs - Learn how sophisticated financial planning softwares and platforms work (ex: Egnyte, Black Diamond Wealth Platform, MorningStar) - tasks include inputting data into specialized software to generate a range of planning scenarios and specific portfolio allocations - Build excel spreadsheets for various planning exercises needed for advising clients - Assist in inputting data into the firm’s trading and performance reporting system - Assist principal in specific accounting and bookkeeping tasks What I learned is: - how financial services are provided to high net worth clients, - the fundamentals of investment management and comprehensive financial planning, - analyzing various investment approaches, as well as learning the basics of systems used in the management of client portfolios and the analysis of investment funds, securities, and other investment vehicles. Upon completion of the internship I have a context and framework for understanding how financial advisory services are conducted, how financial decision-making occurs and how research is done to support the financial advisory process.
