Jan 2021 - Present
I took 3 credits of research in the spring of 2021 with Community Health Interventions Lab. I began working 10-15 hours/ week in the Veggie Van Training Center (VVTC) within the Lab during the Summer of 2021. I have worked on a number of projects, including the 2022 Mobile Market Summit where I assisted with creating the virtual Whova platform. This included importing attendees, and agenda, setting up Zoom links, as well as drafting and sending emails to attendees. I also drafted emails for speakers and in- person room coordinators. I am also involved with 2 projects within the VVTC that include key informant interviews. I presented a poster titled "Challenges and Successes of Rural Mobile Market Operations" at the New York State Public Health Partnership conference in April 2022. I was also one of the speakers for a presentation titled "Developing a Nutrition Incentive Program for Mobile Produce Markets" at the Nutrition Incentive Hub National Convening (virtual) in January 2022. I am beginning my culminating project with the Lab this summer (2022). I will be expanding the findings highlighted on my poster, and plan to add two major sections not heavily discussed on the poster. The first section being a short literature review focusing on rural food access and other mobile market operational studies. I will also expand the "Future Directions" section of the poster to include some brief policy considerations for rural food access and mobile markets in rural areas.

Intern
-
Jun 2021 - Aug 2021
I worked with two other interns and have analyzed 2 datasets with over 300 entries of patient information including age, provider, clinic location, and appointment time to evaluate profit, schedule utilization and % no shows. We also assisted with identifying Key Performance Indicators, creating questions for post-appointment satisfaction surveys, and researched diabetes management and telemedicine. Most weeks I dedicated 5-10 hours of time to this internship.
