Completed articles of clerkship as part of the Lawyer Licensing Process of the Law Society of Ontario. In this capacity, I appeared before masters, deputy judges, and justices of the peace on the clients' behalf at the Superior Court of Justice, Ontario Court of Justice, and the Small Claims Court. I successfully argued contested motions at small claims court against lawyers and paralegals.I prepared motion records and submissions, including the materials relied upon, for the following types motions: striking pleadings, jurisdiction simpliciter & forum non conveniens, stay of proceedings, and summary judgment. My articles of clerkship also allowed me to accumulate experience in preparing questions for examinations (chief, cross, discoveries, and on affidavits). At De Bousquet PC Barristers & Solicitors, I conducted examinations in chief, cross-examinations, as well as making closing submissions at a bilingual small claims matter. I conducted the examinations in French and made the closing submissions in English. Show less
