I had the pleasure of managing Elizabeth in her year of national service with City Year Kansas City during our Founding Year. Elizabeth is a hardworking and joyful employee with a strong attention to detail and keen intuition toward team building. Liz is someone I always knew I could count on to get a job done well. She daily went above and beyond her job description as a tutor and mentor to do right by all her students, all the time. Through daily lesson planning, interventions with a caseload of 15 students, data evaluation, event assistance, and more Liz is consistent and reliable. Additionally, Liz took on a leadership opportunity among her peers as the coordinator of our after school programming at Central Middle including clubs, math, ELA, and homework help tutoring. Through meticulous safety policies and an eye for injecting creativity into her daily work, she led our team through 3 weekly hours of robust and intentional time for the students she and the team served. Her poise and strong communication skills strengthened our partnership both in the classroom and at the school level. Liz is a City Year corps member that I will always remember. I am honored to have had Elizabeth on my team!
