Day Camp Counselor for Specialty Camp (ART), I was responsible for children ages 5-11 years old and around 30 kids a day. A day involved structured activities based on the theme for the week, taking them to swim lessons, scheduled and guided Field trips. I was also responsible for greeting parents and checking IDs as they would drop off their kids and at pickup. At times, I had to improvise and facilitate STEM activities due to the early completion of activities for the day. The objective for each day was to interact with the kids and help them enhance their creative minds in whatever they wanna do in camp as well as outside of it. Worked closely with a non-profit law firm located in Canton, OH, which helped undocumented immigrants find aid and legal services. I worked alongside my team members to bring legal information to undocumented immigrants and interview them on their experiences traveling to the U.S. and its comparison to living in the U.S. We would collect this information in order to provide the attorneys with more insight into each individual’s case. Helped them get connected with their case manager and sent contact info to paralegals on potential clients. Everything we collected as well as sent to the attorneys were encrypted and kept confidential due to sensitive issues concerning domestic violence cases and child abuse. Our priority was mainly to re-establish the connection between our clients and their attorneys and offer some support.
