Apr 2018 - Feb 2021
As a result of creating and establishing WRAP’s first network of over 150 trusts and foundations, I became WRAP Global’s first Fundraising Manager, managing WRAP’s portfolio of international strategic partners. I oversaw and supported all funding applications for WRAP’s international work, including trusts, governments, businesses and international organisations, securing more than £3.5m over 3 years and meeting targets. Highlights include:• Developing a strong, long-term relationship with the Walmart Foundation, identifying several opportunities for collaboration, resulting in a grant of $750,000.• Leading a team to win the high-profile and competitive Roddenberry Prize, securing $250,000 income for WRAP’s work to reduce food waste in Mexico.• Initiating and building a relationship with the Postcode Earth Trust, securing an invitation to submit an application that led to a grant of £250,000.

I was responsible for raising money from several income streams towards projects supporting orphans and vulnerable children in Zambia. The main focus of this role involved managing relationships with a number of trusts and foundations. I conducted research into new funders, prepared applications and ensured appropriate stewardship of existing supporters. I also developed detailed proposal budgets for bid submissions. I oversaw stewardship of individual and major donors, providing regular updates on the progress of their gifts. I managed the Christmas Campaign 2015, sending letters to major prospects soliciting lead gifts. I had an oversight of campaign coverage in the Christmas Newsletter and social media. Over £26,000 was raised towards a target of £20,000.

I worked with the faculty of Technology, Design and Environment to develop fundraising proposals as part of a campaign to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the university. I kept in regular contact with members of the Faculty Executive and other members of staff to keep up to date with developments and progress in all subject areas of the faculty. I managed the development of Brookes+, a university-branded crowdfunding platform that allows students and staff to fundraise for their own projects. This was the second platform of its kind to go live in the UK. I ran the pilot Brookes+ project, reaching the target in under three weeks. I moderated projects, advised and supported the users and helped promote projects to alumni and the public via Twitter and email.

I was responsible for raising gifts towards the Annual Fund and the College Endowment, managing and stewarding a number of prospects, utilising many skills and fundraising techniques. I created a programme to ensure donors of all levels received appropriate recognition and reciprocation. The programme included the formation of a Giving Club to properly thank and steward Annual Fund donors as well as major donors. I also wrote donor reports for College publications and a Donor Newsletter. I attended several events a year ranging from exclusive dinners with the Principal to big events for alumni and friends. I strategised the mailing of a major appeal brochure, which was sent to over 9,000 constituents. Over £83,000 was raised as a result of the mailing. I was responsible for the College's most successful campaign to date, raising over £262,000.
