Senior Architect and Associate at BPA, chiefly involved in designing care environments, including new build and refurbishment with a strong emphasis on dementia-friendly design. Liz is passionate about the benefits of good design in the care home and hospital environments, delivering better quality of life for patients, residents and staff, and in turn achieving better performance for managers and commissioning staff. Liz's breadth of experience, delivering both small scale upgrading projects with Bield Housing Association in Glasgow, larger extension and refurbishment projects at the Stirling Management Centre Conference Centre and Teaching Facility and the 64-bed William Simpson Care Home Facility in Stirling have given her confidence in her ability to deliver best practice and best value for client groups and end users. Liz was Project Architect for Care UK's 90-bed Care Home, Cairdean House, Edinburgh, completed May 2013. Liz was involved in the design of the Virtual Hospital and Virtual Care Home design tools commissioned by the University of Stirling's Dementia Services Development Centre - a world leader in dementia research, and the rebranding of Devon County Council's care homes to be to a new high dementia-design standard. Other strengths and interests include graphic design especially signage, 3d modelling, feasibility studies and interior design. Liz tweeted for @bpaarchitecture
