Unfortunately Liselotte has decided to leave IOM to pursue next steps in her career outside of the organization. Her last day in the office is today, which is why I am taking the opportunity to write a few words. I am happy that Liselotte has found an exciting new job, but very sad to see her leave. We will very much miss her analytic mind, her eye for detail and preciseness, as well as her helpful and kind nature. Liselotte, I wish you all the best in your future endeavors, and I hope we will remain in touch!

Show less

I mainly worked on the EP-CEAS project, a project for the European Parliament on the implementation of the Common European Asylum System (CEAS) by eight European Union Member States. My main tasks were conducting interviews and writing the Country Paper for the case study of Italy. I combined working on this project with writing my Master Thesis and Internship Research Paper: “It’s about reducing the numbers” - Governance and governmentality at work in Italy’s interpretation of the Hotspot System and relocation mechanism. Next to this, I worked on the DemandAT project. This project addresses demand in anti-trafficking efforts and policies. It studies what measures exist regarding the demand side in trafficking of human beings (THB). I mainly contributed to ‘Work Package 11’ on the role of law enforcement in addressing demand. I did background research for the Austrian case study. This involved mapping the Austrian legal and institutional context. I also contributed to the Dutch case study by editing the paper and checking whether the Dutch regulations were described correctly. Show less
