  - Fill customer orders using a hand held scanner to be shipped out or put on shelves in the back room of the store for customer pick up.- Fill orders to be shipped out by UPS on a daily basis. - Wrap and pack customer orders to be shipped out by UPS.- Scan orders using a desk top computer to make UPS labels for the item (box or envelope).   As a material handler at Weaber Lumber I work on a line called the Board Line. On this line I trim defects out of lumber that is then shipped out to be sold in stores. I cut anywhere from 1’ to 14’ depending on the defect, and place it in its proper place, that being a cart (6’ and up to be shipped out) or 1’-4’ on pallets. I label and wrap 2’-4’ pieces of wood/moulding using a Felins wrap machine and place on pallets to be shipped out. I work on lines called the Variable and Straight Lines where I put various lengths and widths of raw lumber in their designated carts. I have marked defects on raw lumber (using a lumber crayon) as to where the machine would read the markings and know what sizes to cut out of the lumber according to the markings. I wrap and band carts of lumber as they are pushed out so they can be staged for shipping. I make labels for lumber on carts that are pushed out on the Variable and Straight Lines with the width,length, and thickness of the raw lumber using a computer. I have ran a machine called the Double end trimmer where it trims the ends off of both ends of the wood at the same time . On the moulders I trim defects out of various lengths and widths that are sent in the back and once I’ve cut the defect out I send it back up front on a conveyor to be wrapped to be shipped out. I also hand wrap moulding on the moulder according to piece count thats needed in that bundle and how much is needed on that particular cart. Of course during all down time there is cleaning when there isn’t little side projects to do. Show less
