At JBP, I acted as client lead for a range of clients. From food & drink (such as the Kebab Alliance), to consumer products, property (L&Q), tech start-ups and energy clients (National Grid). I oversaw integrated communications and social strategies, from the creative brief to implementation, delivery, and the analysis of the impact of said campaign. I cultivated and maintained relationships with media contacts (incl. social influencers) and clients alike, as well as provided strategic advice to both the agency and clients, building on previous strong relationships. Key achievements, skills, and responsibilities: I managed teams, incl. motivational one-on-ones when needed, appropriate delegation, peer support and informal training. I believe nurturing and developing talent is key. My role also included pitching and gaining new business, and ultimately securing wins through inventive, creative proposals and presentations. I also grew client accounts, implemented, and created client’s forecasts, and managed cost-effective budgets of all sizes. Show less

I managed international animal welfare campaigns in the following areas: disaster management, anti-whaling, marine conservation, shark welfare, anti-bullfighting, factory farming, companion animals (strays) and working equines, through systematic implementation of comprehensive and innovative PR plans. My role combined consumer, corporate and travel PR through identifying key opportunities for placing WSPA in all types of media in both the UK and with internationally-based publications. I managed daily news updates, monitored and ensured key messages were relayed accurately, was responsible for all external communications and in charge of the PR concepts associated with the charity’s fundraising campaigns. I wrote and sold in press releases, including supporters’ regional case studies and travel PR (oversees treks). Managed events and stunts, drafted quarterly and yearly reports and analysed press cuttings. Show less

Here, I worked for the company’s biggest clients, Specsavers, Mentos and on GlaxoSmithKline’s Malaria Awareness Campaign (MAC). I developed solid media relations experience and a strong background in managing my colleagues and pitching for new clients, project and time management skills and attention to detail. My role included writing internal reports for Account Directors, external reports for clients, organising brainstorms, monitoring budgets and working in teams to meet tight deadlines. I worked with international consumer journalists on MAC, where I established and demonstrated understanding of the international media environment. I achieved ‘Coverage of the Week’ and 'Employee of the Month’ on several occasions whilst at Beattie Communications. I worked on many events including Specsavers Diabetes UK Partnership launch, the star-studded Spectacle Wearer of the Year Awards and the giant Mentos and Diet Coke fountain of fizz that exploded on Embankment, October 2007 (which was mostly a social networking campaign but the stunt achieved national and broadcast coverage). The Specsavers Diabetes UK partnership included a high profile launch fronted by Sir Steve Redgrave and real-life stories throughout the campaign in national and regional press. The original fundraising target was smashed and we raised an amazing £150,000 for Diabetes UK. I highlighted important issues around retinopathy, eye care and digital retinal screening amongst people with diabetes, those at risk of developing it and the general public. I built up a strong press contacts database, strong knowledge of all media, understanding of strategy implementation and event management, excellent client relationships and excellent writing skills. I worked on the following celebrity events that were full to capacity with press from publications ranging from the Property Week to the Times. I have maintained a rapport with the journalists that attended these events and as a result, built up an extensive contacts database.
