My responsibilites included screening and scheduling potential research subjects for various research studies at the University of Michigan. I started out in the Department of Otolaryngology, where I conducted Cochlear Implant Studies for 8 years. I then trasnsfered to the Department of Internal Medicine where I conducted studies for the Division of Gastroenterology. Research subjects were recruited for IBS, Crohns and constipation studies, sponsored by pharmaceutical companies. Research subjects were recruited for IBS, Crohns and constipation studies, sponsored by pharmaceutical companies. I also worked for the Department of Radiology for 6 years. I worked on a National Lung Screening Trial where we recruited over 800 subjects. My duties included prepartation of IRB applications and renewals, as well as completing case report forms. I worked directly with study patients on protocol requirements including but not limited to venipuncture, measurement of vitals, drug and diary accountability and ECG recordings.
