Research focuses on soil carbon dynamics in a chronosequence of land in the Conservation Reserve Program from 6 to 26 years in comparison to soils under continuous agricultural production. Analyses includes identifying light and heavy carbon fractions and their stable isotope signature, measurement of CO2 fluxes, and assisting with the examination of vegetation diversity and biomass production. Additional research will investigate the impacts of converting CRP land into agricultural production.
