Las Vegas and the University of Nevada School of Medicine is proud to serve as home to our Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (CAP) fellowship training program. Our CAP program is unique in its emphasis on community based systems of care and forensics. Trainees time is split amongst the Clark County Departments of Juvenile Justice, Department of Family Services, University Medical Center and Nevada Department of Children and Family Services through Desert Willow Treatment Center. Our fellows train through the Healthy Minds outpatient clinic, where fellows care for a cohort of outpatient clients for their two years of training. In addition, our fellows complete research projects for publication and/or national presentation, participate in a strong didactic program of at least six hours dedicated didactics per week, and engage in other community-based multi specialty clinics, such as the Craniofacial Clinic and the Fetal Alcohol Syndrome Clinic.
