  Speedflex is not a 'run-of-the-mill' gym; the Speedflex concept offers customers a high intensity, low impact workout, with little or no muscle soreness. All sessions - for up to sixteen people - are led by a professional trainer; it's a personal experience in a group session. The combination of cardio and resistance training encourages a high calorific burn in a safe environment. I had the responsibility of dealing with prospective and existing members on a daily basis to ensure the continuing growth of membership and revenue within the centre. I was required to manage existing memberships and keep track of packages due to expire. Within my role, I: - was accountable for increasing membership sales and strive towards sales targets on a monthly basis - fully understood and was able to promote the concept of Speedflex to potential members - contact and re-engage with lapsed members - managed existing memberships and packages and built relationships with members - was fully aware of marketing activities and actively promote offers and activities among members and potential members - identified and pursued potential opportunities for establishing new corporate memberships within the locality of the centre. I was also heavily involved with and pivotal in the success of building up a database of clients in the new Speedflex centre in Cork, which opened at the end of 2016. I was required to manage this database remotely, liaise with potential and new clients and promote Speedflex in order to gain new members. Show less

  I worked as a voluntary Health Trainer with the NHS this summer, working primarily with the Easington Exercise After Stroke group at Healthworks based in County Durham. I worked with the patients in the gym, assisting with group sessions in order to help improve mobility and confidence for the stroke group members. I had to ensure that equipment was being used safely and effectively, and most importantly that the members were not at risk of accident or injury.
