  Gamesys is a leading global online entertainment company, and one of the biggest gaming operator and games developer in the UK. They operate some of the biggest brands in the industry, such as Virgin Games and Jackpotjoy. I worked as a Front End Developer in the Marketing Design department, focusing mainly on creating offers and promotions for our players. Our team was Agile, and we had regular stand-ups every mornings to discuss progress. The main highlights during my time in Gamesys were: - Helped create the Front End of a system to display offers to our players in real-time using Web Sockets. This system proved very successful in terms of revenue and player engagement. I subsequently solely owned the Front End of this system. - Created countless responsive offers based on designs, many of which included intricate CSS animations, always to the absolute satisfaction of the designers and stakeholders, and always on time. - Contributed to our promotions framework, built with React.js, Redux and SCSS. - Created a React.js template for a promotion mechanic, which was to be used to create promotions of that type. - Created countless responsive promotions, which required a good understanding of our promotions framework and of React.js and SCSS. - Learned about Node.js in 2 days, and built a custom server with templating, according to spec. - Learned how to use many new technologies, such as: React.js, Node.js, npm, gulp, ES6, Promises API and GreenSock JS. - Acquired a more in-depth understanding of technologies I already knew, such as: HTML, CSS (selectors, animations, filters and many more), SCSS, ES5 and Git. - Wrote extensive documentations for both the Offer system and the workflow of creating and delivering promotions. - Created and delivered a presentation about the IDE Sublime Text.
