  Together with a group of friends, I helped to establish a campaign to recruit Jewish bone marrow donors for Sue Harris in 1993 following her diagnosis with chronic myeloid leukaemia. Sadly we were unsuccessful in our quest to find Sue a suitable match and she lost her fight in 1997. I have continued to be involved in helping to recruit stem cell donors amongst those aged 16 and over, as well as from umbilical cord blood.
