Teaching all types of Mandarin classes that Language Stars offers to children around Chicago area. The programs included PT class: Toddlers & parents learn together (my youngest student was 6 months, and my oldest "student" were probably in their 70s); Kids only (different ages: 3 to 5, 5-8, & 8-10) in center and Satellite classes; and different types of At-School* (public, private, Catholic and etc.) programs… This was an invaluable and exciting experience. I learned its special teaching method -- FunImmersion, and meanwhile I was able to adapt it to the needs of each student based on my knowledge of teaching. Other than teaching as well as helping develop and edit Mandarin curriculum, my job required me to professionally and effectively communicate with diverse students, families, and colleagues either in personal or by phone. Also, I helped recruit new teachers of different languages from different countries and led all types of teachers' training (e.g., weekly curricula training, At-school curricula training, & new teacher training). In addition, I actively participated in different marketing events, which could potentially help increasing new enrollments (e.g., story telling in the local libraries or other facilities, and small stage performance). *Notes: The schools I worked were Lake Forest Country Day School, Science & Arts Academy, Little Lambs, all the elementary schools of District 25, St. Procopius, & etc. Show less
