  I worked here March 2018 until August 2019, then May-August 2020, and May-August 2021. I mostly worked in the ICU and emergency departments but also worked in other departments when needed. • Patient Care Skills – Animal handling and restraint of small animal and exotic patients. Husbandry and monitoring of inpatients including medication administration (PO/SQ/IV/IM) and informing doctors if patients were experiencing new symptoms or were declining. • Technical Skills – Venipuncture, IV and urinary catheter placement, assisted with radiographs and ultrasound. Ran blood work, urinalysis, fecal flotations, and cytology. Intubated/induced and monitored anesthesia, and monitored post-op recovery. • Emergency Medicine Skills – Received transfers on 12 to 15 patients in a very busy ICU. Responsible for carrying out emergency treatments and diagnostics, such as placing a nasogastric feeding tube and aspirating the tube and taking radiographs. Assisted in emergency surgeries and codes. Triaged patients for admission. Performed CPR when required. • Communication and Client Education Skills – Updated clients on status of the patients, obtained patient histories, worked with clients in intense emotional situations and in conflict, educated clients on discharge instructions including medication administration and post-operative care. • Specialty Referral Skills – worked in a multi-disciplinary team with various specialists including internal medicine, surgery, cardiology, radiology, oncology, ECC, and neurology with specialists, residents, and interns.
