  Working as Economic Development Coordinator for the City of Elgin allowed me to gain excellent business experience while in the public sector. I aggressively reached out to businesses and representatives of key companies/industries for the City. I implemented grant and financial assistant packages, including the implementation of TIF monies as the City has four TIF districts currently, for new and existing businesses. Acting in this capacity for such a large City, approximately 110,000 residents, has given me an excellent opportunity to work on development, downtown revitalization, and various large commercial projects.
