− Founded and implemented three intervention programs for primary schools reaching more than 3000 learners in our first two years: • I am Sensory Smart – a home-based sensory program for foundation phase learners to improve their motor skills for school readiness. • Canolees – a literacy intervention program that teaches learners to read within as little as 40-60 hours. • Canotel – a numeracy intervention program that helps learners master foundational mathematics within as little as 50 hours. My main responsibilities include: • Content development of all three programs. • Design and layout of resource packages and teacher manuals. • Training of teachers and facilitators. • Oversight of program implementation. • Facilitating workshops for parents. • Continuous professional support and development of the team. • Relationship building and liaising with all school stakeholders. • Drafting proposals and budgets for funding. • Monthly reporting and all administrative tasks. Within the organization, all team leaders regularly meet and discuss project progression, outcomes and strategies allowing for multi-professional collaboration. Other programs I have consulted on and actively been involved in include: • Capsule – A holistic program implemented at 3 large no-fee urban primary schools which focuses on the literacy, numeracy, sensory and social-emotional development of learners, as well as assisting the school in establishing a functional internal management structure. This program has reached more than 5000 learners. • Year Beyond – A program designed to provide the youth with work experience or a pathway to further studies. • Drop-in center – A safe haven for children who have been abandoned by their families and experiencing extreme cases of trauma

The first project I worked on when I joined the CAP team, involved coaching both teachers and parents on Sensory Processing and Social-Emotional Development. This took place in the form of multiple practical workshops throughout the year. In addition, I facilitated teacher development workshops on positive discipline and more effective classroom management strategies., working predominantly with Foundation Phase teachers.
